After their meal, the Brothers & Sisters star met up with a larger group at Coco de Ville, where he took shots and blew out the candles on the nightspot’s signature cupcake towers as guests sang “Happy Birthday.”

Bugs, split walls with writhing tentacles, dogs with upside down heads, Odette Yustman in panties, creepy kids and Gary Oldman with a really big horn. Audiences got a taste of the supernatural David Goyer-style in January when The Unborn kicked off the year in horror. Following a $75 million worldwide box office gross, the exorcism-tinged thriller, which finds Yustman spooked by sinister visions, comes to DVD and Blu-Ray on July 7th. David Goyer gave ShockTillYouDrop.com a ring from his offices at Flash Forward, the new television series he’s directing for ABC, to look back on his fourth feature at the helm.

ShockTillYouDrop.com: With interviews like this, every director we talk to looks back on their film and says, “Oh, I wish I could’ve tweaked this or that…” Do you feel the same way? Or you satisfied…

David Goyer: I’m extremely happy with the box office results. Thrilled. It made a ton of money. [laughs] I’m happy with that. Looking back on it, I was surprised, critically, that reviewers gave me such flack for the Holocaust aspect, which I thought was relatively small. I thought there was a double standard, because I remember thinking, “How is this any different than what they did at the beginning of X-Men?” And nobody gave them flack for that at all. Maybe because we were a horror film it wasn’t cool, and they were a comic book movie, I don’t really know why that was okay and this wasn’t. But I also never said the Holocaust caused the Dibuk, I said it was a place that it allowed it to enter… Anyway, I thought it was interesting. Obviously, I’m sensitive to the Holocaust, but I was surprised people took issue in it in that way. • Continue Reading?

As casts go, this one is enough to make most mivie-goers go weak at the knees; joining the already-announced Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Sigourney Weaver (Alien) in Disney’s latest romantic comedy You Again, the latest movie from Race To Witch Mountain director Andy Fickman, are the magnificent Jamie Lee Curtis, Odette Yustman, Kristin Chenoweth, and thrillingly, Betty White, who will forever be the wonderful Rose from the Golden Girls to us!

The comedy stars Bell as a woman whose brother is marrying her old high school enemy, and she is not keen on it. Cue many attempts to sabotage the whole thing, which we are sure will yield sidesplitting returns. We don’t care though – Jamie Lee Curtis and Rose from the Golden Girls – what more do you need?! Sounds very My Best Friend’s Wedding to us, but hopefully better.

Shooting is scheduled to begin later this summer in L.A.

Karl Urban and Adriana Barraza have been added to the cast of And Soon The Darkness, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The pair join Amber Heard and Odette Yustman, who were signed up for the British thriller remake earlier this month. The story revolves around two American girls bike riding through Argentina. When one goes missing, the other must race to find her before night falls.

Commercials director Marcos Efron is making his feature debut on the movie.

Urban has previously appeared in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy and can next be seen in J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek. Mexican actress Barraza picked up an Oscar nomination in 2006 for her turn in Babel

“Pineapple Express” star Amber Heard and “Cloverfield” actress Odette Yustman have both signed on to star in a remake of the 1970 British thriller film, “And Soon the Darkness.”

The remake will star the two actresses as American friends on a bike-riding trip in a remote part of Argentina. When one of them goes missing, the other must find her before darkness falls and her worst fears are realized, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The original features Pamela Franklin and Michele Dotrice as two young nurses from London taking a cycling trip in rural France.

Heard will also serve as a co-producer alongside Lizzie Friedman, Karen Lauder, Deborah Marcus and Chris Clark. Marcos Efron will direct.

Today’s Babe of the Day, Odette Yustman, is an L.A. native. InKindergarten Cop, she learned valuable life lessons. For example, boys have a penis, girls have a vagina and the difference between policemen and princesses. Yep, that’s right, she graced the screen opposite Arnold “it’s not a toomah!” Schwarzenegger inKindergarten Cop.

Now, Odette shares the silver screen with Gary Oldman in the scare-the-hell-out-of-you-maybe thriller, The Unborn. Odette is our first babe of the day to share screen time with both evil little kids and possessed, spider-walking old people. We think that’s a plus, but only on the internet.

After surviving the grueling game of “Who is your daddy and what does he do?”, Odette took a much deserved hiatus from acting. Later, she returned to her craft on the small screen, making television appearances on Quintuplets, South Beach and Monk. • Continue Reading?

Sitting alone in a hotel bedroom with Odette Yustman isn’t easy. Okay, not alone per se, her friend is in the next room. Still, the stunningly beautiful and gregarious actress is sitting before me, curled up in a chair and beneath a blanket while I’m across from her sitting on the bed. The bed. Now, how does one make that not look awkward? Through focus.

We’re each here at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills to talk about her latest foray in the horror genre, David Goyer’s The Unborn (opening January 9th). And the threat she’s up against this time is not a towering beast of unknown origin (Cloverfield), an alien robot steering wheel (Transformers, in which she had a “blink and you’ll miss it” role) or a drooling, Google image searching, obsessed fan. Instead, Yustman’s being stalked by a demonic presence vexed that she was born and her twin died in utero. Because of this, she is plagued by possession and outlandish, dreadful visions, from eyeless creatures with gaping maws that look inspired by Dick Smith’s work on Ghost Story to dogs with wonky heads.

“I definitely wanted to stay away from the horror-thriller thing,” Yustman says explaining her initial post-Cloverfield plans. “I couldn’t pass this up because of David Goyer and his script was so good. I loved the character and the story was original, it wasn’t a remake. I got to tap into things I haven’t been able to do yet. I think it’s essential to take baby steps and to prove yourself.”

The actress endured a frigid two and a half months in Chicago lensing the Platinum Dunes/Rogue production facing lengthy night shoots, contact lenses that impaired her vision and voracious potato bugs. “They were huge and that big,” she exclaims measuring their length for me with her fingers. Yeah, they’re apparently pretty big. “Horrible creatures with no purpose in this world. They bite, they eat each other. They eat potatoes? Wow, great,” Yustman laughs followed by a painfully cute, “Assholes.”

With that our conversation stays on track yet turns to some of her other projects including a possible sequel to The Unborn, should the film hit the big time, to a picture called Rogue’s Gallery in which she gets to exercise her action and comedic chops. A Cloverfield sequel? Tough call. She doesn’t sound rather optimistic about her character’s fate.

I had the chance to speak to both Yustman and writer-director David Goyer earlier in the day on camera about The Unborn. Below Yustman offers her take on the scariest canines in the film and Goyer dishes the dirt on some of his inspirations and explains how the Dark Knight helped him shoot in Chicago.

Former ‘October Road’ star Odette Yustman (‘Cloverfield’) says she had a blast playing an assassin in the upcoming action-comedy flick ‘Rogue’s Gallery.’

The 23-year-old Latina tells ComingSoon.net that the movie, which just wrapped filming, is a ‘dry-wit, dark comedy.’ Yustman, who also stars in the upcoming thriller ‘The Unborn,’ says she had fun doing her own stunts in ‘Rogue’s Gallery.’

‘That was my dream role. I get to kick ass, be funny, kill people with a paper cutter blade,’ she says.
